The fallout continues over Stephen Colbert’s tongue-in-check testimony before a House committee on immigration last week. John Conyers (D-Mich.) calls it “an embarrassment.” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer more or less echoes his sentiments. Rep. Zoe Lofgren, the South Bay Democrat who invited Colbert, thanked him during the hearing for helping to focus attention on the plight of farm workers, but isn’t saying much publicly. Does she look a bit uncomfortable during Colbert’s 5-minute opening statement?
