If Major League Baseball frees the A’s to leave Oakland for San Jose the team might consider letting the Giants’ minor league club, the San Jose Giants, stay in town. That’s what A’s VP for broadcasting and communications Ken Pries tells the Wall Street Journal for a piece in its Bay Area edition:
Minor league teams generally relocate when a big-league club comes to town. Mr. Pries said the Athletics could allow the San Jose Giants to remain, though "we haven't made a decision on that yet."
Sounds downright charitable for a team stuck in the Oakland checkout line, don’t you think?
Add: That’s the mockup from Architecture 360 of the SJ stadium the club wants to build on 13 acres downtown. The WSJ also runs a pic of the drab parking lot there now with cars parked about where home plate would be.
