That’s the conclusion of Smart Politics, an online newsletter at the University of Minnesota, which tracks the senator’s approval ratings and points out that, at 43 percent in one poll, they’re near an all-time low (for her):
Feinstein enjoyed a string of 34 consecutive months from June 2005 through March 2008 of approval ratings at or above 50 percent in SurveyUSA polling.
Since April 2008, however, Feinstein has seen her job approval rating fall below 50 percent in 25 of 33 SurveyUSA polls through February 2011, including each of the last 12.
Add Feinstein: California Watch’s Chase Davis, meanwhile, writes that the state’s senior senator has no recognizable Republican opposition and has raised $4.3 million towards reelection in 2012.
