First-time home buyer: Mark Zuckerberg

Thursday, May 5, 2011

image The Facebook CEO, who has rented some rather unpretentious properties since moving the company from his Harvard dorm room to Silicon Valley in 2004, has bought a 5,000-square-foot Palo Alto home. The Mercury News says the price was $7 million and that the transaction didn’t take place under his name:

His new home is in “a leafy and affluent Palo Alto neighborhood [and] has more than 5,000 square feet, with a saltwater pool, a music alcove and five bedrooms for when friends and family of the Facebook founder come to visit.

Add: The Merc isn’t printing the address “because of concerns for the privacy of the sellers, who still live there, and Zuckerberg.” That means scraps for the pixelated tabloids.
