Upslope Larry Ellison’s lawsuit against downslope Pacific Heights neighbor couple Bernard and Jane Von Bothmer over the trees he says are obstructing his view of the bay makes Page 1 of today’s Wall Street Journal. They’ve been haggling for a couple of years, and the court date is coming up June 6, plenty of time, one presumes, for things to get resolved before the 2013 America’s Cup.
Add: The WSJ piece is quite an arboreal yarn. At one point Ellison is said to have offered the couple $15 million to buy them out, but they refused. The couple claims they’ve had to run tree-cutters in Ellison’s employ off their property.
Noted: Ellison’s pad on so-called Billionaires Row near Danielle Steel and the Gettys (that’s a view from the house after it was remodeled in the late ‘90s) is one of six residences the Oracle CEO owns.
