Larry Ellison sues his Pacific Heights neighbors

Saturday, May 28, 2011

image Upslope Larry Ellison’s lawsuit against downslope Pacific Heights neighbor couple Bernard and Jane Von Bothmer over the trees he says are obstructing his view of the bay makes Page 1 of today’s Wall Street Journal. They’ve been haggling for a couple of years, and the court date is coming up June 6, plenty of time, one presumes, for things to get resolved before the 2013 America’s Cup.

Add: The WSJ piece is quite an arboreal yarn. At one point Ellison is said to have offered the couple $15 million to buy them out, but they refused. The couple claims they’ve had to run tree-cutters in Ellison’s employ off their property.

Noted: Ellison’s pad on so-called Billionaires Row near Danielle Steel and the Gettys (that’s a view from the house after it was remodeled in the late ‘90s) is one of six residences the Oracle CEO owns.
