As a pro football franchise owner, investor Paul Pelosi hasn’t exactly set the world afire. Politico says that the husband of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lost up to $5 million last year on the California Redwoods, his ill-fated United Football League franchise. The Redwoods have since left San Francisco for Sacramento and are now the Mountain Lions. And Pelosi has doubled down with up to $5.4 million in new investments.
Noted: The Redwoods played at AT&T Park, but never drew many fans. The re-born Mountain Lions play at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.
