Rank-and-file deputies look away from Mirkarimi

imageSupervisor Ross Mirkarimi may be the clear-cut favorite in the race for sheriff but he isn’t the choice of the department’s rank-and-file. The Deputy Sheriff’s Association overwhelmingly endorsed one of its own, Capt. Paul Miyamoto on Friday. Official results are to be released Monday, the Examiner says.

Add: Meanwhile, Mirkarimi, who has Sheriff Mike Hennessey’s endorsement, shrugged it off. “They’ve always been a little out of step with the sheriff,” he says of the deputies.
