At Bohemian Grove, Vaughn Walker, Bill Neukom

Monday, July 11, 2011

imageIt’s that time of year again for rich and powerful members of San Francisco’s Bohemian Club to gather in secretive retreat at Bohemian Grove on the Russian River. Among the speakers for the 17-day affair that starts Friday: Giants boss Bill Neukom and retired U. S. District Judge Vaughn Walker.

Add: Like his predecessors, Bohemian Club general manager Matt Oggero disses the notion that anything out of the ordinary goes on up there, telling the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat: “It’s a group of guys out in the woods having a good time.”

Image: Those are future Presidents Reagan and Nixon, seated, at Bohemian Grove in 1967.
