The Bay Citizen’s newsroom casts a union vote

Friday, July 15, 2011

Newsroom employees at The Bay Citizen, the non-imageprofit spawned with $5 million in seed money from billionaire Warren Hellman, may be about to join the Pacific Media Workers Guild. Chris Roberts at SF Appeal says the vote was 7 to 5 in favor of the union, but that the outcome is muddled because two votes are being challenged.

Add: Neither shop steward Aaron Glantz nor guild executive officer Carl Hall are commenting just yet. Both sides have until Tuesday to file objections, and Glantz tells SF Appeal to expect a union press release then.
