After day-long negotiations at City Hall that stretched into the early morning hours the Board of Supervisors’ budget committee has put its stamp of approval on a $6.8 billion San Francisco budget deal. The new package, which must be voted on by the entire board, reverses most of the health and human services cuts that had been proposed. It also jettisons Mayor Ed Lee’s plan to contract out security at the city’s two public hospitals, the Chronicle says.
