A new traffic study concludes that the 49ers’ Santa Clara stadium proposal overestimates available parking, underestimates how many fans will drive to the games and exaggerates the stadium’s proximity to mass transit, the Chronicle says. Now, for a little context:
The study was conducted by Abrams Associates Traffic Engineering Inc. in response to a request from San Francisco Planning Commissioner Mike Antonini, who is publicly opposed to the 49ers leaving San Francisco. And its author, Stephen Abrams, admits he is a lifelong 49ers fan who personally does not want to see the team move to the South Bay.
