The former All-Pro football player whose 9-year NFL career before turning actor and TV pitchman included two years with the Raiders in the 1970s, was found dead in his Los Angeles home today. The coroner’s office said the cause of death was not immediately determined. The No. 1 draft pick from Michigan State in 1967, he retired with the Houston Oilers in 1976 and quickly got picked up as a pitchman for Miller Lite beer before an acting career that included playing the character of Moses Hightower in six “Police Academy” movies.
