Now that Judge Susan Illston has rejected Barry Bonds’ bid to drop the obstruction of justice conviction against him and set a Dec. 16 sentencing date, federal prosecutors say they won’t seek to retry Bonds on three unresolved perjury counts. Prosecutors made their intentions known in a brief notice filed today, the Mercury News’ Howard Mintz says.
