By posting a partially nude photo purporting to be that of BART spokesman Linton Johnson online, hacktivist group Anonymous looks intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of public relations victory. Commuters were already alienated by the disruptive Monday protests at BART stations. So what does Anonymous do? It zaps what’s left of its goodwill. The irony: Johnson, who’s said it was his idea for BART to shut down cell phone service to quell protests, was such an easy target. Now, even those who believe he qualifies as Doofus of the Year are recoiling at the invasion of his privacy.
