Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck pens an LA Times op-ed in which he apologizes, sort of, for his department’s botched investigation in which Giovanni Ramirez was wrongfully hung out for weeks as the sure-fire suspect in the Bryan Stow beating. He says he could have been more “circumspect” in his remarks about Ramirez, but that the media “should be more restrained and cautious.”
Add: The latter is a no-brainer, but still, no one forced Beck to go before cameras and swear up and down for weeks that Ramirez was the cops’ guy.
