Turns out that Progress for All, the political committee behind the “Run, Ed, Run” campaign, could have been more aptly named “Friends of Rose Pak.” The Bay Citizen’s Gerry Shih canvasses the group’s newly-released financial filings and what they show is that the $49,000 brought in so far is mostly from the same small group of folks who’ve been funneling political money through Pak for years. Seven of the donors plopped down $5000 each; two others $3000. Not exactly what anyone—except Pak and maybe Chronicle columnist Willie Brown—might call grass roots support for interim Mayor Ed Lee.
