That’s Skippy, the pioneering Jack Russell Terrier who was among the first therapy dogs to be trained at the Marin Humane Society, playing beside a bronze statue erected in his honor at the society’s Novato offices. Skippy died in July, sadly enough. And now someone has swiped the statue, the Marin IJ says. Friends of Skippy have put out a plea for its whereabouts, but fear the worst: that it might have been sold for scrap.
