Tony Bruno hurls a spitter at Giants’ Ramon Ramirez

Saturday, August 6, 2011

imageTough week for Tony Bruno. The LA-based syndicated sports talker gets booted from his 30-minute weekday gig with Gary Radnich on KNBR radio when the station decides to pair Radnich with Damon Bruce. And then last night, while watching the Giants’ Ramon Ramirez hit one of his beloved Philadelphia Phillies (Shane Victorino), Bruno tweets:
"gutless #!@%*# Giants. Bochy is a coward for having having his illegal alien pitcher hit a guy since mighty Frisco boys ..."
He deletes. But too late. Then, to add to his woes, the broadcaster doubles down in the insult department to take a swipe at folks who called him out for the “illegal alien” thingy. Here’s Bruno's Facebook apology this morning:
I did remove my post and apologize for my comments regarding illegal aliens. I was angry and on the air and I stand behind my comments that Bruce Bochy is a coward, as are all managers who order pitchers to throw at guys just because their pitchers can't get a guy out. All of you people resorting to name calling are more classless and vile.
