Is the online daily deals bubble ending? San Francisco-based Yelp will cut staff and “scale back” its year-old Yelp Deals service, Bloomberg says. About 15 of 30 sales staff will be redeployed to other parts of the Yelp organization. It was just a few days ago that Facebook decided to shutter its daily deals service. And critics have been less than ecstatic lately about category leader Groupon’s prospects.
