Andy Rooney to sign off from ‘60 Minutes’

Talk about the passing of an era. CBS’s resident curmudgeon on “60 Minutes,” who is 93, will make his last regular appearance on the show Sunday, TV Newser is reporting. Andy Rooney began his whimsical end-of-show pieces in 1978. But he goes back a lot farther with CBS: to 1949, when he signed on as a writer for “Arthur Godfrey’s Talent Scouts.”
