Bob MacKenzie, KTVU 2 reporter was 75

Friday, September 23, 2011

image“I go into a house to meet somebody. I start talking first without taking notes, without the camera rolling. Be flexible, be human, don’t force the situation. Let it develop,” KTVU 2 reporter Bob MacKenzie once told the Chronicle. MacKenzie, 75, who had a knack for the witty story, often about some overlooked facet of Bay Area life, died of cancer Thursday at his home in Antioch. He was a fixture at KTVU from 1978 until last year, although he had appeared on camera only occasionally toward the end of his career. Obituary: Chronicle

Noted: MacKenzie’s brother, John, is chief photographer at KTVU.
