California jobless rate 12.1 percent; Democrats antsy

Friday, September 16, 2011

This can’t be good. California’s unemployment rate ticked up a notch to 12.1 percent in August, imageaccording to new data this morning from the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Not much of a surprise, considering that the country added net zero new jobs in August, leaving the jobless rate nationally at 9.1 percent.

Related: The whispers are growing louder among Democrats that the Obama administration is in need of an old-fashioned shakeup. Even veteran partisan James Carville says so:
"We are far past sending out talking points. Do not attempt to dumb it down. We cannot stand any more explanations."
