Wouldn’t you love to have been a fly on Leo Apotheker’s wall today? As rumored, Hewlett-Packard dumped him at the close of trading and named Meg Whitman as its new CEO. Apotheker had overseen one of America’s more publically dysfunctional companies for barely a year. AP cites a “source familiar with the matter” as saying Whitman got the job because there were few people with the experience to run a complex technology business out there.
