Mayor Ed Lee has raked in $750,000 in just six weeks since deciding he didn’t want to be “interim” anymore. But the Chronicle’s John Cote says Board of Supervisors President David Chiu leads in the keep-your-powder-dry department, with $568,000 in the bank and no unpaid bills.
Noted: Only Lee and Public defender Jeff Adachi are not taking public financing. And if it’s any indication of how much the mayor could end up spending, Lee—unlike Adachi—isn’t pledging to stick to the $1.5 million cap that applies to those who are accepting public cash.
