Oakland rolls out red carpet for Brad Pitt, ‘Moneyball’ premiere

Monday, September 19, 2011

imageHundreds of movie fans gathered across the street from the Paramount Theater in Oakland tonight to see Brad Pitt and other stars on hand for the national premiere of “Moneyball,” celebrating A’s general manager Billy Beane and the 2002 Oakland team. Pitt was all smiles, proclaiming the debut “very cool,” the Chronicle’s Susan Slusser says.

Add: Even high-powered baseball agent Scott Boras, who’s called a less-than-flattering name in the film, and who was among those who walked the red carpet, proclaimed the movie “great for baseball.”
