Random connection of the day: Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who is half owner of the Fairmont Hotel, is adding a cable news operation to his considerable holdings. He announced that his upcoming Middle East cable news channel will be called “Alarab” and will launch in 2012, partnering with Bloomberg for at least five hours of programming daily, TV Newser says.
