Al Davis’ private funeral is low-key and dignified

imageThere were no autograph seekers, no fans and no media at Al Davis’ private funeral at Temple Beth Abraham in Oakland this morning, writes former BANG sports columnist turned regular reporter Gary Peterson. The cops shooed unsuspecting passersby along while remaining mum about what was going on inside, he says:

First came the white stretch limo, easing down the 300 block of Oakland's MacArthur Blvd., a humble slice of a city Al Davis burned into the national consciousness.

Then came the black Lincoln Towncar, carrying John Madden and his wife.
