For Raiders, the post-Al Davis speculation begins

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Now that Al Davis is dead, a parallel season of speculation has begun surrounding the Oakland imageRaiders. The team wasted no time over the weekend insisting that the Raiders will remain under Davis family control. The Chronicle’s Vittorio Tafur says today that Mark Davis will search for a director of football operations or general manager, or possibly both and that first-year coach Hue Jackson will make personnel decisions for the time being. Enough speculation there to fill plenty of sports columns ahead.

Add: Mark Purdy at the Mercury News lays odds on where the Raiders will be playing in 2020, between Oakland, Santa Clara and Los Angeles.
