The San Francisco-based retailer’s retrenchment of its flagship brand continues, with plans now to shutter over 100 more of its Gap stores in the U. S. by the end of 2013. The San Francisco Business Times says the company hopes to hold the number of its Old Navy stores at 1,020, but will reduce their selling space overall.
Noted: Not counting units closed since then, there were 998 Gap stores in the U. S. as of the end of July. Plans now call for 700 by the end of 2013.
