Nice recap by BANG’s Steve Harmon on the end of the just-concluded bill-signing season, although good luck trying to find a label to pin on Gov. Jerry Brown to describe how he dealt with the 563 bills the Legislature sent to him last month. About the only thing one can say for sure: he’s obviously trying to govern from the middle.
Add: Remember Brown predicting that lawmakers would be “singing the veto blues?” Well, not quite, says Harmon. He ended up vetoing just 97 summer session bills, or about 17 percent. For the year, Brown vetoed 128 of 889 bills, or 14 percent.
