Google is gobbling up commercial real estate in the South Bay city that’s home to its headquarters at a record clip and has spent more than $225 million on 15 properties this year alone, says the Mountain View Voice. Among the latest acquisitions: the building that’s home to community television station KMTV. Says the Voice:
Google has been known to purchase properties and sit on them for years, including the 2008 purchase of the building that houses the Pear Avenue Theater, a small theater company near Google headquarters which has so far not been forced to leave.
