NPR’s slick attempt to avoid the GOP dartboard

Friday, October 21, 2011

NPR says World of Opera host Lisa Simeone violated its ethics code by becoming a imagespokeswoman for the Occupy Wall Street movement in DC. Member station WDAV in North Carolina, where she works, says her involvement violated nothing in her agreement with the NPR member station. Solution? NPR will no longer distribute World of Opera starting Nov. 11, separating itself from Simeone. It’ll let WDAV do it. Simeone will continue to host. And life goes on.
