RAND retracts its pot dispensary crime study

Not often does a think tank retract one of its studies within weeks of release but RAND
Corporation did so this morning with respect to last month’s marijuana dispensary crime study. The study, hailed widely by the medical marijuana community, asserted that crime in neighborhoods where dispensaries were closed actually increased, a theme that goes against the grain of law enforcement’s insistence that pot dispensaries contribute to crime. RAND now says its data were suspect.
