The newsman who during a 40-year career at KPIX, KQED and KRON became one of the Bay Area’s most respected and enduring news broadcast figures died Monday at his home in Corte Madera from complications arising from Alzheimer’s disease. A throwback to the era of Edward R. Murrow, who was his hero, Post had a deep knowledge of politics, a love of history and a Rolodex full of contacts that stretched across the country, including many from the numerous political campaigns he covered. Obituary: LA Times
Noted: In perhaps the best testament to his renown in political circles, Post played himself in the 1972 Robert Redford film, “The Candidate.”
