UC Berkeley physicist shares Nobel Prize

The phone rang at UC Berkeley physicist Saul Perlmutter’s house early this morning and it was a Swedish reporter asking for his reaction. Perlmutter didn’t know what he was talking about at first, but it soon became apparent. He’s sharing the Nobel Prize in physics with two other scientists for their work that shows the expansion of the universe is accelerating.
