No love lost between recently departed Oakland police chief Anthony Batts and Mayor Jean Quan, but Batts takes the high road in a Q&A with Oakland North, essentially offering up a lengthy no comment when asked for his take of her handling of Occupy Oakland:
I won’t say anything purposely bad about the mayor. I don’t think that’s ethical. I think being the mayor is a tough job. But I think when you become a mayor or a police chief you have to make tough decisions and they’re not always popular decisions.
Noted: He goes on to not say much, declining to kick the mayor when she’s down.
