It was barely two months ago that San Francisco State University president Robert Corrigan, 76, (pictured) announced he will step down in the fall of 2012 after 24 years at the helm. As it turns out, his departure is part of a trend among veteran Cal State leaders. The LA Times notes that four other long-serving presidents are also leaving this year or next, at a time when the state’s fiscal crises has left Cal State arguably the most vulnerable it’s been in years, if not ever.
