Ed Lee the apparent winner in San Francisco mayor’s race

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

imageEd Lee has won election as San Francisco’s mayor. Although the preliminary ranked-choice count is unofficial, he finished with 61 percent of the vote after second- and third-place ranked choice votes were counted, easily putting him ahead of second-place finisher, Supervisor John Avalos, with 38 percent, the Chronicle says.

Add: The update from the Elections Department also shows George Gascon won a four-year term as district attorney, and it looks as though Ross Mirkarimi will become San Francisco’s next sheriff.
