In Emeryville, a well-known pol hits bottom

Friday, November 4, 2011

imageThe sad tale of one-time successful nightclub impresario and six-term Emeryville city councilman Ken Bukowski, who’s up for a seventh term, isn’t getting any cheerier. The politician who helped transform Emeryville into a retail hotspot and bring Pixar to town, and who last year acknowledged to The Bay Citizen that he had used meth, is financially destitute and now his longtime political allies, including the local Chamber of Commerce, have turned on him.

Add: Just how bad has it gotten for Bukowski? TBC’s Zusha Elinson says he’s tried to get work driving a shuttle bus and as a employee at a Target store but each rejected him.
