If you frequent the 24th Street BART station it was impossible to miss Jesse Morris, guitar in hand, sounding so much like Johnny Cash that you could hardly tell the difference with your eyes closed, unable to see the punk rock hair. He died on Sunday, his 27th birthday, the Examiner says. Uptown Almanac says it was suicide.
Noted: His band, Jesse Morris and the Man Cougars, was to have played Oakland’s Uptown Nite Club tomorrow night. It’ll now be a benefit show in his honor instead, the Ex says.
