BART
Linton Johnson, who was behind BART’s decision this summer to cut off cell phone service at San Francisco BART stations in an ill-fated attempt to squelch protest over a fatal police shooting, has been removed as the agency’s spokesman. He’ll keep his $175,000 salary, but is being reassigned to special projects, the Chronicle’s Demian Bulwa says. New general manager Grace Crunican made the announcement this morning, Johnson’s first day back from a leave that began Aug. 22.
