Linton Johnson out as BART spokesman

Monday, November 14, 2011

imageLinton Johnson, who was behind BART’s decision this summer to cut off cell phone service at San Francisco BART stations in an ill-fated attempt to squelch protest over a fatal police shooting, has been removed as the agency’s spokesman. He’ll keep his $175,000 salary, but is being reassigned to special projects, the Chronicle’s Demian Bulwa says. New general manager Grace Crunican made the announcement this morning, Johnson’s first day back from a leave that began  Aug. 22.
