Quan says she’s ‘relieved’; Protesters vow to return

Monday, November 14, 2011

imageAt a presser, Mayor Jean Quan says she’s “relieved” that this morning’s shutdown of Occupy Oakland’s encampment went peacefully, despite 32 arrests. The Oakland Tribune, which is live-blogging here, says the 100 or so protesters who’d massed at 14th and Broadway have dispersed. Police are in the process of inventorying the tent sites so that personal belongings may be returned, the paper says.

Add: Meanwhile, protesters tell various media outlets that they’re waiting for the cops to leave before going back to Frank Ogawa Plaza.
