Thousands in Oakland turn focus to banks

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

imageBy noontime the hundreds of the morning had become thousands at the Occupy Oakland general strike, many of them congregated near Webster and 20th Streets in front of a cluster of bank branches, including JP Morgan Chase. The Oakland Trib says that employees were “looking out from the second floor windows, grinning at the spectacle.” From the Trib’s live blog:

Protesters are chanting, "Banks got bailed out, we got sold out" and

"Hey Chase, what do you say? How many houses did you take today?"
