Protesters block entry at Port of Oakland*

Monday, December 12, 2011

A few hundred protesters have succeeded, at least temporarily, in shutting down a line of trucks entering the Port of Oakland. It’s part of a coordinated Occupy movement effort up and down the West Coast. As of shortly before 9 a.m., the situation remained peaceful, with protesters and police more or less staring each other down. The Chronicle has posted an early story. Oakland Tribune/BANG is live-blogging.

[+] After disrupting trucks and causing a sporadic shutdown, protesters began clearing out in the direction of the West Oakland BART Station after 10 a.m.
