Kudos to Bay Area News Group’s Oakland Tribune for breaking the story back on Dec. 1 (aka last Thursday) that the newspaper’s longtime former home, the Tribune Tower, is to become a call center. But shortly after noon today, BANG’s cookie-cutter websites that include the Trib, Contra Costa Times and other mastheads moved an “updated” version of essentially the same piece by George Avalos, with a familiar lede:
In a boost for the East Bay economy, an international call center company plans to bring 300 new jobs to downtown Oakland with its $8 million purchase of the historic but long-neglected Tribune Tower Building, brokers said Thursday.
Noted: That’s Thursday, Dec. 1.
