The Recall Jean Quan movement gets lots of ink in today’s zoned edition of the Wall Street Journal. It’s focused on anger from downtown business owners sore over the mayor’s erratic handling of Occupy Oakland. John Protopappas, who helped redevelop the Tribune building, tells the WSJ that the day after protesters all but shut down the Port of Oakland, investors in New York and Utah pulled the plug on two West Oakland apartment buildings he’s trying to develop:
“The mayor will not take my call. It’s much easier for a protester to get her attention than the business community.”
