ABC 7’s Kevin Keeshan quits for NBC job

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

ABC 7 news director Kevin Keeshan has left the building. Blogger Rich Lieberman says he informed a stunned newsroom yesterday that he’s headed for New York to be ombudsman at NBC News and that a station source said the 21-year KGO-TV veteran “literally had a bag packed” as he broke the news.

Noted: Keeshan, the nephew of the late “Captain Kangeroo” Bob Keeshan, joins former ABC 7 president and general manager Valari Dobson Staab, who left last year to oversee NBC’s owned and operated stations.
