Bay Area shivers under record chill

Those were record lows overnight around the Bay Area for a Jan. 17. It was 28 at Oakland airport, 27 degrees in Walnut Creek and Lafayette, 29 in San Jose, and up in Napa’s Pope Valley, 13. In the city, it got down to 35 in the Sunset District, and 40 downtown.

Noted: Forecast is now for rain to move into the North Bay tomorrow night and spread across the region Thursday and Friday.
