Even as the Cal football program remains stuck in mediocrity, a big bright spot for coach Jeff Tedford is that he has continued to recruit well. As the Feb. 1 national signing day approaches, most experts have the 2012 class in the top 10 nationally. Now, Tedford’s best recruiter, defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi (pictured), has been snatched away by Steve Sarkisian at Washington. And already, says the Chronicle’s John Crumpacker, several top-notch Cal commits are reconsidering.
