Thomas Horn, 14, makes an auspicious film debut

Thomas Horn, the 14-year-old Piedmont boy who stars along with Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock in “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”—opening nationwide Jan. 20—is no ordinary teenager. He was discovered after a stint on Jeopardy! Kids’ Week, when he won $31,000 and a trip to Alaska. The Oakland Tribune’s Angela Hill caught up with him and his mother in a Piedmont Avenue coffee shop.
